Omar Ortega:

Omar started his running career in the 7^th grade after joining Students Run L.A. (SRLA) During his time with SRLA, he trained for his first Los Angeles Marathon.  Omar has completed the L.A. Marathon every year since then. After high school, he ran for Moorpark College. There he set personal records in Cross Country (21:03), the Steeple Chase (10:08) and 5000m (15:15) He was inducted into the Moorpark College Hall of Fame after 2 years. In 2003, he transferred to Arizona State University where he was part of the Cross Country team. Recently, Omar has served as the Assistant Coach for the Cross Country teams at Phoenix College; 2007, Mountain Pointe High School; 2008, Betty Fairfax High School 2009 .

Carlos Bravo:

Carlos has been running since 1969, where he began his running career in high school. He set remarkable personal and school records in the 800m (1:58), 1 Mile (4:19.8), 2 mile (9:20) and Cross Country (15:00.) After high school, Carlos attended the College of Sequoias where he set his personal record in the 4 mile (19:50) and 5 mile (25:40.) In 1973, he became the first runner to obtain a scholarship at New Mexico- Highlands University where he continued his running career. Carlos’ other personal accomplishments include the 10 mile (54:00) and the half marathon (1:09:00)
